A Dream Within A Dream

0

Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow–
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.

I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand–
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep–while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Edgar Allan Poe

Nay, Nay, Nay!

I shut my eyes and dare to hope
That maybe today is the day
That the shadows will let me cope
I hear them whisper, “nay, nay, nay.”

Ignoring, i squeeze my eyes shut
Try to picture; birds, peace, blue sky,
Muff my ears with a thick hat
But sadly, i still see myself die.

A rustling under my small bed
That sounds like a sick voice dying
Makes me jump and hit my big head,
Suddenly, i can’t stop crying.

I flip my light switch on, nothing.
I try to reach for my phone, nowhere.
I feel my leg caught by something
My fear i can not bear.

Screaming, i cry for help out loud
As my blankets come falling down.
I can’t say why i made no sound
But till date, i never left town.

I have written this poem at 12.50 AM beacuse i have insomnia and it just kind of came to me. I really love it and i hope you guys will to. Do share your thoughts on this eight sylabble poem especially on the last stanza, what do you think happened to this girl???

Bread and Music

0

Music i heard with you was more than music,
And bread i broke with you was more than bread;
Now that i am without you all is desolate,
All that was once beautiful is dead.

Your hands once touched this table and this silver,
And i have seen your fingers hold this glass.
These things do not remember you, beloved,
And yet your touch upon them will not pass.

For it was in my heart you moved among them,
And blessed them with your hands and with your eyes;
And in my heart they will remember always,
They knew you once, O beautiful and wise.

Shakespeare’s Epitaph

0

Shakespeare’s last plays were buried with him, but no one has looked inside his tomb due to his creepy epitaph. Here it is for all you guys who wish to scavange his last works.

Good friend for Jesus’ sake for bear, To dig the dust enclosed here. Blest be the man that spares stones, but cursed by he that moves my bones.

If that did not scare you a bit then by all means, dig up his grave, take his plays, become rich, famous and haunted with a curse.
I know I wouldn’t even step two inches near that.

With love,
Eye Candy.

I wanna Be Yours

I wanna be your vacuum cleaner
breathing in your dust
I wanna be your Ford Cortina
I will never rust
If you like your coffee hot
let me be your coffee pot
You call the shots
I wanna be yours

I wanna be your raincoat
for those frequent rainy days
I wanna be your dreamboat
when you want to sail away
Let me be your teddy bear
take me with you anywhere
I don’t care
I wanna be yours

I wanna be your electric meter
I will not run out
I wanna be the electric heater
you’ll get cold without
I wanna be your setting lotion
hold your hair in deep devotion
Deep as the deep Atlantic ocean
that’s how deep is my devotion

I CARRY YOUR HEART WITH ME

0
heart
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
                                                      i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart
i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)
